Twice a month, in the inspiring surroundings of the art museum, we meet with older adults and from September to May, we turn hours into hours of learning, new experiences, skills and connections. In the 2024-25 season, we will delve deeper into the UGM's rich collection, the Slovenian artistic cultural heritage of the 20th and 21st centuries. We will get to know different artistic styles, techniques and motifs and meet the central names of Slovenian visual art: Ivan Grohar, Ivana Kobilca, Ivan Kos, Zoran Mušič, Slavko Tihec, Vlasta Zorko, Zmago Jeraj, Ivan Dvoršak, Ida Brišnik Remec. While getting to know art, we will train attentive and sensitive observation, understanding, memory and imagination. Along with the artworks, we will also touch upon themes such as: nature, relationships, society, health and emotions. Above all, we don't mind if we get completely locked in with an artwork.
You don't need a background in art or art history to take part in the Wisdom Hours. The programme is based on relaxed socialising.
