An exhibition of illustrations by Rok Vilčnik opens on Saturday, 20 June, at the Maribor Art Gallery. It marks the reprint of Cosmic Fairytales, written and illustrated by Rok Vilčnik in 1998 and first published in 2003 in a beautifully designed book by the Locutio publishing house (designer Bernard Šiško). This time it is a newly edited and supplemented more convenient edition (smaller classic book format), as the author has made some improvements to the already existing content, adding some new space stories. The new edition of Cosmic Fairytales will be available for purchase at a very special promotional price.
The opening is followed by a concert by the group Simpatico, which was created as an occasional project of the Maribor Book Days, and soon became one of the leading generators of the city's music scene with songs such as Valerija and Maribor in the morning.
The exhibition and concert are part of the free Summer Museum Night program, which connects all museums and galleries in Slovenia every year. With its rich events, the Maribor Art Gallery invites you to a cultural gathering long into the summer night this year as well.
