Before the expiration of the exhibition Under the magnifier with the UGM Collection / Hydrangenia, created in collaboration between the Volčji Potok Arboretum and the Art Gallery Maribor, experts from both institutions will talk about the motif of flowers at the most famous depictions in the gallery and interweave knowledge about nature, horticulture, art and history.
What all the different flowers say, how they appeal to us today in artworks and more, are questions that we will look for together. For example, the lush, colorful and well-rooted hydrangeas that are the pride and decoration of our gardens. But you knew that the Arboretum Volčji Potok has the largest collection of hydrangeas in Slovenia, and the Šantel painters saw a special inspiration in these flowers.
