Twice a month, in the inspiring setting of the Maribor Art Gallery, we meet with older adults to create a space for new experiences, knowledge, and friendships. From September to May, we transform the hours into delightful moments of exploring 20th and 21st century art.
Over a cup of coffee or tea and sweet treats, we dive into current UGM exhibitions, explore different artistic styles, techniques, and themes. Together, we develop mindful and attentive observation, a deeper understanding of artworks, as well as memory and imagination. Artworks also serve as a starting point for conversations about life – nature, relationships, society, health, and emotions. And if a conversation sparked by an artwork turns into an honest, heartfelt chat – that’s just fine! That’s the true charm of the Blue Hours.
No prior knowledge of art or art history is required. The program is based on relaxed gatherings and openness to new experiences.
