Colleges & universities
The purpose of the programmes aimed at college and university students is to increase their understanding of art as well as encourage close observation and independent articulation of ideas. The main focus is on observation, discussion, analysis, problem-solving and increase of vocabulary. The programme for groups is carried out from Tuesday to Saturday between 9:00 and 18:00. Larger groups are divided into groups of up to 20 students. Each group is led by the gallery educator or curator.

Guided tours for groups
Guided visits are based on discussion and include shorter didactic exercises to encourage closer observation and increase understanding of art.

After brief exhibition tour, high school & university students are encouraged to explore exhibited works independently by using worksheets.

Brief guided tour of an exhibition is followed by a workshop. By producing their own works the participants are encouraged to observe and increase their understanding of the art works.

GUIDED TOURS IN ENGLISH
For school children of 2nd and 3rd triad we organized guided tours in English led by the American aritst Bryan Lauch. The tour is adjustet to the age and knowledge of the children. UGM announces guided tours of exhibiton New Tendencies and Laibach from 6−10 December 2010 and 14−18 March 2011 at 10.00 and 16.00.

In the school year 2010/11 UGM enables 4 workshops for college and university students led by an artist. UGM announces following workshops: sculpture, new-media and book workshop.

ugm annual membership for students
The annual membership is for students who would like to follow UGM exhibition active and regularly. 4 vistits for a school year include guided tours and a workshop. Members are intitled to free entry for 2 persons, 30 % discount for programme and publications and UGM newsletters.

competition for the most original depiction of works from ugm exhibition
At the beggining of each school year we announce the competition for the most original depiction of works from the UGM exhibition an UGM permanent collection. Its purpose is to encourage creativity and broaden the knowledge of the Slovene contemporary visual arts. This year the competition is connected to the exhibition Visual Bureaucrats. All received works will be displayed at the exhibition Thegallerysuitsme, the most original works will be awarded. Competition course: a group should appoint a free guided tour and workshop, where they will get all competition information and worksheets. In the range of few months the participants have time to create their depictions.

CAREER PRESENTATION: ARTIST AND CURATOR
The presentation of the professions like artist and curator is for young people who are taking decisions about their future in education. Metka Kavčič Tekač presents characterictics of the artist career. UGM curator presents curatorial work which includes setting up an exhibition, researching artist`s life and work as well as art development.

Members of the UGM Club are entitled to free entry to the gallery exhibitions and 30% discount for UGM publications/merchandising and programme /excursions …/. You can join the UGM Club by paying the membership fee in the UGM Ticket Office, Strossmayerjeva ulica 6, Maribor.
