At the UGM Šop, Lana Pastirk presents her unique ceramic works. The young designer approaches ceramics through a wide range of design and sculptural expressive possibilities. On display are various works: ceramic tiles with floral motifs, figurines of imaginative and fairytale creatures, unusual sculptures incorporating everyday objects such as a coffee cup, large-scale ceramic pieces in the form of stools, and relief sculptures. In her process she uses different types of clay, glazes, and firing techniques, and also incorporates drawing and texture. Through ceramics she enjoys telling stories; she is drawn to simplified figures of an archaic appearance, often encountered in fairy tales, and she is also inspired by poetry. Lana Pastirk works in various directions, and her pieces speak of a joy for exploration and creative imagination.
Lana Pastirk (b. 1998) earned her master’s degree at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO), University of Ljubljana, in the Unique Design program, where she received the UL ALUO Award for her master’s thesis for the 2023/2024 academic year.
