Experience an attractive intertwining of iconic works by authors from the UGM Collection, from Ivana Kobilca to the duo son: DA!. How did the classical media react to the turbulent 20th century, from painting, sculpture, drawing and graphics to more modern media of photography, video and spatial installations, with special emphasis on the creativity of northeastern Slovenia, from the entry into modernism to its end? Find the answers in the exhibition of more than a hundred highlights from the UGM Collection.
The collection of the Maribor Art Gallery, the central institution for 20th and 21st century art in the region, belongs to the city and the people who live in it. In the year when we are celebrating 100 years of organized art activities in Maribor, we invite all Maribor men and women to confirm the importance of the UGM Collection by visiting the exhibition. Affiliation to the collection can be demonstrated by each visitor by recording their presence when they color one of the 10,000 outlines on a large poster in the gallery lobby.
Join us for one of four opening guide tours in August and September. Due to the guidelines of the National Institute of Public Health, we will replace the larger opening with opening guide tours. Let's make a safe visit together! More about the first guide tours here.
