You’re warmly invited to the opening of the K67 kiosk in front of UGM and to a relaxed Saturday gathering with designer Saša J. Mächtig, along with students of the Maribor Technical School Center.

In Maribor, we are unveiling the renovated kiosk by internationally acclaimed designer Saša J. Mächtig, this year’s recipient of the Prešeren Award for Lifetime Achievement. The K67 kiosk – whose journey spans from a modular newsstand system of the 1960s to an icon of Yugoslav design – has found its place in locations such as Times Square in New York and has become a recognizable feature of many European cities. This legendary kiosk will now come to life again in Maribor, restored as part of the city’s participatory budget initiative, proposed by Tanja Cvitko and carried out in collaboration with teachers and students of the Maribor Technical School Center.

Throughout May and June, a series of events will take place at the kiosk.
