On Friday, 23 February, at 19.00, the UGM Studio (Trg Leona Štuklja 2) will open a unique spatial installation Relics by one of Maribor's most prolific artists Metka Kavčič.
The focus will be on "her theme" - lace, which will connect intimate sculptures cast in bronze with large sculptures created in plastic. Over the last decade, the artist has been talking about the harmony of our times. And the works in the exhibition can be read in temporal dimensions, the changes implied touching on the materiality of art as well as the social and personal. The challenge for the artist is to test the limits of design and to discover new material effects. Through these, she also calls the viewer to critically evaluate the phenomena of our time, to unravel the traces of destruction and to confront the threat to survival.
