Maribor Day 2022 / We connect the city with the suburbs

We will introduce you to the urban development of this area of the city with an emphasis on the architecture of the second half of the 20th century. Individual buildings and wholes, works by well-known authors, are carriers of the functional, social, historical and artistic value of a certain period. They are our heritage, protected by laws and decrees.
We will present the international sculpture symposium Forma viva, which in the same period enriched the city of Maribor with nineteen outdoor concrete works of art. A former resident, Vid Kmetič, will share with us what life was like for residents in the then-new block settlements. We will conclude with a detailed tour of the sculpture of Luj Vodopivec on the green in front of the RTV regional center, where we will be joined by a former journalist, Mrs. Lučka Gruden.
