In the field of the exhibition about contemporary chinese and slovenian art, The Earth is Flat you are kindly invited to join us on a lecture, held by professor of sinology, Nataša Vampelj Suhadolnik. In this lecture is going to be represented the process of the modernisation inside the chinese painting as a result of the constant battle between East and West. In the middle of the 80's has been appeared a lot of questions such as: what is the main role of the chinese modern world, what kind of economic position do the artist have? Right then has been in China developed 100 different art groups searching for themselves different but forbidden  aspects and movements from West.

Nataša Vampelj Suhadolnik is employed at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts, Department of Asian and African Studies. She has been studied history, art history and sinology. After dissertation for Ph.D she has been also specialized at different universities in Asia. Her main objects of investigation is chinese traditional and modern art. Currently she is investigating project of identification, categorization and digitalisation of chinese objects in Slovenia.
