13. 3. 2025 Kangaroos at the Gallery / art mixer for families with babies

Kangaroos at the Gallery / art mixer for families with babies (up to 12 months)
Mothers, models, artists and other women in the visual arts
UGM, Strossmayerjeva ulica 6
Thursday, 13 March 2025, 10:00–11:00
This time we come to Nikolaj Pirnat's painting of a mother and child, a very common depiction of women in visual art. We will also touch upon the nude motif, which is the most frequent representation of women in the whole history of art, and open a debate on the ways of confronting or rather not confronting children with “nudes” in art. Then we will talk about other important women in art - the painter Metka Kraševec, the photographer Zora Plešnar and this year's Prešeren Prize winner Dragice Čadež.
About the programme Kangaroos at the Gallery:
Once a month, we offer a special guided tour of the exhibition for parents with babies from 0 to 12 months. It offers you the opportunity to combine culture and parenthood in a flexible and stress-free way, while making new friends. Take your child with you in a comfortable baby carriers or baby wraps. The exhibition tours are designed to allow you to move freely, and if your babies get restless, you can retreat to a quiet corner for changing or feeding.
Guided tours take place on the 1st floor of the gallery. Access via stairs. Trolleys cannot be used in the gallery exhibition areas. You can leave your trolleys in a safe place in the lobby of the gallery.
The event is free of charge on payment of an entrance fee of 4 €.
