We would like to invite you to the opening of the exhibition of Jože Šubic, an artist who is presenting himself again at the UGM after a long period of time. The opening will take place in the framework of the Summer Museum Night on Saturday, 21 June 2025, at 18:00 in the UGM Šop.
The exhibited works were created as a relaxing “break" during the creation of the cycle of large-format paintings Take a Picture, with which they are also thematically connected. The eroticised images provoke and encourage the viewer in their dichotomy between passive voyeurism and active experience of their own romantic and sexual imaginary. As in the past, Šubic recycles his old works on paper and combines watercolour with printmaking, drawing and acrylic to create a potent new visual whole.
