Celebrate the International Day of Museums and Galleries with us! This time on the theme of The Future of Museums. The past year has opened up a number of new virtual paths to our exhibitions, and some will be preserved and upgraded for the future. But realizing that only a live encounter with a work of art allows for a truly holistic aesthetic experience - when we walk around the exhibition spaces, move between or around the works of art and experience them in their true size, three-dimensionality or multisensuality - and direct contact cannot be replaced.

Therefore, we invite you to visit the exhibition 100+ Highlights from the UGM Collection, where you can indulge in the impressions of thick color layers of Slovenian Impressionists, listen to the sounds of Slavko Tihec's moving object, peek under Metka Kavčič's metal tablecloth or find your favorite view of Sandi Červek's black painting. For the exhibition, free material With the Meant Ant through the UGM Collection is available for children. In UGM Studio, works of art made of natural materials feature in the exhibition Stojan Grauf, The Earth does not Belong to Humans, Humans belong to the Earth, which will make you to think about the future. On guided tours, we will also introduce you to art in public space, first virtually and then live.

For those of you who may or may not be in the mood for the 18-kilometer route, where you could see all 19 sculptures of the Maribor Forma Viva, but are still very interested in what these concrete works of art are in the city, we invite you to a virtual lecture. We will present the international sculpture symposium Forma Viva, which in the second half of the 20th century enriched the Slovenian public space with 300 sculptures - including Maribor. Where are the Forma Viva premises? How did the symposium unfold in our city? How did concrete artwork connect with the city and the townspeople? Do you remember how they were built?

For those who, however, want to get to know and feel the sculptures of Maribor's Forma viva live and also get active, we invite you to take a guided tour by cycling. Accompanied by members of the Maribor Cycling Network, we will see 10 sculptures on the left and right banks of Drava. In case of rain, the event is canceled. The number of places is limited.

10+ Clues: The Disappearance of Hilda Mravol / detective game

You are invited to an experience that has not yet been offered in a gallery! Step into the investigator's shoes and help us find the curator Hilda, who mysteriously disappeared, leaving behind a diary full of scribbles and symbols. Find artists and works in the exhibition 100+ Highlights from the UGM Collection, which will lead you to the answers and one step closer to deciphering the strange happenings in UGM. Immerse yourself in the story and use the little gray cells.
The game takes a good hour to play. Recommended to play in pairs or small groups of up to 4 people. Mandatory sign up: deja.becaj@ugm.si
