Andreja Borin, curator of the UGM, will give a guided tour of the exhibition Spekter. 70 Years of the UGM Collection. Join her on Saturday, 16 November 2024, at 11:00 at Strossmayerjeva ulica 6.
This tour will focus on selected artworks from the UGM Collection and the relationships they establish in the installations in the Spekter exhibition.
The text about the exhibition Spekter states, among other things, that "under the baton of designer David Tavčar the rooms and halls of the UGM | Maribor Art Gallery have been transformed into experiments of modes of display and interpretations [...]" and that he has "selected over 270 works of art [...] into a singular, vibrant experience."
During the guided tour, the curator will discuss the artistic message of the selected artworks, their place in the artist's oeuvre and their significance for the narrower or wider Slovenian space. This will be a starting point for reflection on the visual language of the installation and the role of design experiments and interpretations in the reading of the artworks.
The guided tour is free of charge on payment of the entrance fee.
