Cycling Guided Tour / Art among the Trees

As part of European Mobility Week, we will also draw your attention to green spaces and trees alongside art, which bring many benefits to the city - including reducing traffic pollution, reducing noise pollution, making the environment healthier, more beautiful and more pleasant. We will start on the green in front of the UGM, where you can rest on a sculpture by Canadian artist Will Nettleship in the shade of the treetops. In the park part of Slomšek Square, we will meet Karlek, Slomšek himself, a drawing by Petra Varl and the famous Ginkgo tree. We will then drive to the platform at Ljudski vrt with the monument to Josip Primožič Toš and along Gosposvetska cesta, where two sculptures of Maribor's famous Forma Viva are hidden in the treetops. We will finish in the Sculpture Park with the wooden artwork Last Touch by Dragice Čadež, which, among other things, encourages reflection on the human impact on trees.
The cycling tour will be organised in cooperation with the Slovenian Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage - Maribor Regional Unit and Maribor Cycling Network.
