Maribor Art Gallery invites children along with parents, granddads, grandmas and friends to join our summer workshop, exhibition and social programme in order to spend amusing and entertaining summer holidays with us. Through play and creativity, there is an opportunity to come to know works from the Gallery collection and test your skills as painters, photographers, sculptors and filmmakers. Join us for our summer "Artistication!"
TUESDAY CREATIVE WORKSHOPS
Every Tuesday, from 10 July to 21 August 2011, 10:00−12:30
Young visitors can spend Tuesday mornings at art, play and creation. Children's workshops offer an entertaining introduction to visual art and stimulate their creativity. These creative workshops for children are led by the curators Brigita Strnad and Andreja Rakovec and visual art students. Suitable for children from 4 years onwards. ANIMATION FILM WORKSHOP ELEPHANT
Wednesday, 17 August - Friday, 19 August 2011, 16:00–18:00
Participants will become introduced to the elements of animated film − from designing the storyboard, through various techniques to final editing − under the direction of fine arts teacher Hana Repše, mentor of the educational programme for the animation Elephant. Within a three-day workshop, the young filmmakers will produce their first animated film.Ž
Price of the creative workshop: 12 € / 8.40 € (Young friends of Maribor Art Gallery). Obligatory prior registration by 12 August 2011! Payment must be made at the Gallery’s box office (Tue−Sun: 10:00−18:00) or to the account 01270-6030358319 adding the note "animated film".
SUITSMEGALLERY, closing exhibition of children’s works

Young artists will present their art works created during the summer workshops at a morning exhibition.
FAMILY PLAY DEVICES FOR VISITING THE EXHIBITION ARTISTICATION

Families will receive didactic play devices and tasks (memory, compound etc) that will motivate them for an active perception of artworks from the Gallery's collection and direct them into a creative gathering of children, parents or attendants.
SPECIAL ARTISTICATION GUESTSŽ
Sculptor Katja Majer and painter Saša Bezjak will attend as special guests of the project. With their art interventions, they will enter the space of the Gallery collection and implement contemporary images among images of the past.
