Creative Saturday / Spring Imprints and Earth Beneath Our Fingers
UGM, Strossmayerjeva ulica 6
Saturday, 11 April 2026, 10:30 – 12:00
The workshop is designed for children in two age groups and includes a guided tour of the exhibition as well as hands-on creative activities.
Group ages 4 – 7 / Spring Imprints
We will welcome spring with delicate leaves and colorful blossoms. First, we will transform into small buds that slowly grow and awaken. Then leaves will sprout, vibrant flowers will bloom, and together we will explore colors, shapes, and traces on paper. We will place leaves, grasses, and flowers onto a printing matrix and observe the forms and textures they leave behind. We will explore how natural elements transform into interesting graphic patterns and compositions. Inspiration will be drawn from the exhibition Spekter, and we will translate our impressions into our own graphic prints.
Group ages 8 – 12 / Earth Beneath Our Fingers
The earth holds many stories – and it can also become color. Using different types of soil, we will create natural pigments and mix them with water to paint. We will observe the shades, marks, and textures that earth leaves on paper, and how these change as they dry. In the process, we will explore the relationships between light and dark tones and build our own painterly compositions.
