Creative Saturday / Self-Image and Mixed Media

Group: 4–7 years / Self-Image
In this workshop, we will explore the stories that portraits tell – what facial expressions, the position of hands, clothing, and the space around a person reveal. After visiting the Spekter exhibition, we will bravely explore our own image through photography, drawing, and painting to create a unique self-portrait. Children will express their feelings and ideas through play with shapes and colors.

Group: 8–12 years / Mixed Media
In this creative session, we will combine different colored backgrounds, materials, and tools to create new imaginative images. We will ask ourselves whether to draw a line on a light color with charcoal or with a marker, and whether to draw a light or even darker line on a dark shape. How does one line create a different expression from another? Inspiration for our motifs will come from the Spekter exhibition.
