7. 3. 2026 Creative Saturday / In the Footsteps of the Angry Ant
Creative Saturday / In the Footsteps of the Angry Ant
UGM, Strossmayerjeva ulica 6
Saturday, 7 March 2026, 10:30 – 12:00
The workshop is designed for children in two age groups and includes a guided tour of the exhibition as well as hands-on creative activities.
Group ages 4 – 7:
The Angry Ant invites young explorers on a movement-and-drawing adventure! First, we will visit the exhibition Spekter, where we will carefully search for interesting traces of colour and imprints. After the tour, we will transform the gallery space into a large creative playground. We will create directly on the floor – using rollers and printing various objects onto large-format paper. Colours will leave their marks, lines will intertwine, and unique images will emerge as reflections of our movement. Through playful exploration of shapes and colours, children will express their feelings and ideas.
Group ages 8 – 12:
After visiting the exhibition The Cabinet by sculptor Gala Alica at UGM Kabinet, we will become sculptors ourselves. The artist searched the spaces of UGM for old objects and remnants that have been preserved there over the years. From these found materials, she created sculptures and gave them new meaning. Objects that were once part of the building or everyday life now tell new stories. We will also create using a special material – cardboard sheets that once housed the UGM photo archive. From these, we will make our own sculptures, telling stories about the gallery and glimpsing a time when photographs were carefully stored on cardboard mounts in large wooden drawers.
