Creative Saturday / A walk with a pencil

In the real world, we encounter familiar objects around us every day. But what happens when artists don't mimic these shapes and objects in their work, and present us with their own, non-objective world, full of emotions, colours and materials?

We will free ourselves from the four walls of the gallery and take a walk around the city centre of Maribor as part of the Festival of walks. We will accompany the walk with a pencil and a piece of paper, which will reveal its purpose at the end of the walk. The path will lead us past the city squares, then through the hidden streets of the city, where we will get to know the forms of the statues, wondering about their meaning, what they represent and how they work in space. We will also step among the trees and, in the fresh atmosphere of the city park, we will delve into the world of our own thinking about abstract or non-objective creation.

Parents, guardians, grandparents and grandparents are also welcome to join the walk. If the children are taking part in the walk on their own, their parents or guardians will meet them at the City Park at the Music Pavilion at 11.30.

In case of rain, the Creative Saturday will be postponed to 2 April 2022, 10.00-11.30.
