The catalogue presents extensive oevre of the painter created between 2003–2005. Sandi Červek (b. 1960) persistently supplements his ‘black pictures’. With his precise black-coloured patterns and preparative drawings he is trying to capture light that accompanies the picture into a labyrinth of countless views. In spite of the minimalism and constructive composition, his paintings are instilled with symbolic meaning. The search for genuine content has become a basic problem of modern art; maybe Červek’s images succeed most in this aspiration.
