ELSA Oeltjen Kasimir, From Family

10 €/7 € (Members)

Legacy UGM presents the work and life of Elsa Oeltjen Kasimir (1887 – 1944), an exceptional artist and extravagant personality. She was born in Ptuj and lived in the rural region of Haloze as well as Austria and Germany; she associated herself with European artists and was a close friend of Oskar Kokoschka. The catalogue reveals intimate diary notes of the artist’s life and her marriage with painter Jan Oeltjen (1880-1968), reproductions from private German art collections and permanent collection of Maribor Art Gallery. The story of Elsa Oeltjen Kasimir is a story of an exceptional artist, living in the shadow of her husband but without any doubt leaving behind interesting and appreciated oevre.
