UGM Studio in cooperation with Festival Borštnikovo srečanje is hosting the transfer of the exhibition Space in the Space, the first transparent exhibition, which depicts the Slovenian scenography historically, stylistically, artistically and theatrically. With the help of preserved models, scenic drafts in various art techniques, sketches, plans and photographs of the performance, the stage design will be presented as a science, as well as will be the work of contemporary and older stage designers and the development of the spaces of the game on Slovenian stages.

Since the majority of the stage designers of the older generation are also important Slovene artists, the exhibition will emphasize the theatrical part of their life work - which has been poorly presented so far (for example, Ivan Vavpotič, Avgust Černigoj, Marija Preglja, Gabrijela Stupica, Vala Bratina, Maks Kavčič, Jožeta Polajnka, Toše Primožič etc.) until the projects in 1991 (Vadim Fiškina, Miran Mohar, Marko Japlja). The exhibition brings a new look at the history of fine arts and the history of the theatre on our soil.

The exhibition was prepared by the Slovenian Theatre Institute (SLOGI) in cooperation with the National Gallery. The producers of the installation in Maribor are UGM and Festival Borštnikniko Srečanje.
