About the beginning of Maribor Art Gallery

UGM opened its doors at 11:30 am on a Sunday, February the 7th in 1954, with a huge exhibition, which included 138 artworks of 67 active artists from all around Slovenia. Rudolf wrote about his memories of that event in the newspaper Večer for the 20th anniversary of the gallery. In it he described the need for the first professional art institution on the northeast of the country, the enthusiasm of the people who contributed to the realization of the gallery and the challenges he faced trough his 17 years as a first director.

KINDLY INVITED!
