UGM at the Festival of Walks
A Drop Disappears, The Monument Leaves Memories Behind
Thursday, 28 March, 11:00
assembly point: UGM, Strossmayerjeva 6

Once again the UGM is joining in on the Festival of Walks. This year we will get to know the National Liberation Monument, regarded by the people of Maribor as an important and instantly recognizable symbol of the city. How much does the monument weigh? Who created it? What is its shape? Who are the persons the monument is dedicated to? Why did the townsfolk dub it Kojak? We will seek answers to these questions through multichannel and multimodal guidance. With the help of the ground plan of the Square of Freedom, we will learn about the monument's interaction with its surrounding space, explore the artist's creative process, and learn about his collaborators. The walk is adapted for the blind and visually impaired. It will be held in English language and free of charge, however please announce yourselves in advance.
