Among the events, taking place for the summer of culture in UGM, we have also prepared a set of tuesday workshops for kids. Children will explore different ways of artistic expressions through getting to know work from slovenian and foreign artists on the VIS-À-VIS exhibition. Through many creative workshops young ones will express themselves with drawing, sculpting and creating installations. The workshops are not suitable for children under the age of five.
PROGRAM:
Tuesday workshop / The sea (5+), Tuesday, 4. July 2017; 10.00 – 12.30
Through exploring the VIS-À-VIS exhibition, young visitors will become acquainted with different artwork, regarding the idea of the sea. Followed by a workshop where they will play with the idea themselves.
Tuesday workshop / My shirt can be (5+); Tuesday, 11. July 2017; 10.00 – 12.30
In this workshop, we will be creating toys made out of T-shirts, stockings and shoelaces…
Tuesday workshop / Pillow (5+); Tuesday, 18. July 2017; 10.00 – 12.30
Through the guided tour of the VIS-À-VIS exhibition, we will be getting to know different painting techniques and trying them out ourselves in a workshop afterwards.
Tuesday workshop / Dragons (5+); Tuesday, 25. July 2017; 10.00 – 12.30
A painting can represent a door into the world of imagination. On the last tuesday’s workshop in the month of July, we will be discovering stories, looking at the different shapes and colours of exhibited artwork.
Tuesday workshop / The sun and the shadows (5+); Tuesday, 1. August 2017; 10.00 – 12.30
This time we will be exploring the idea of light and shadow, objects and shadows. On the workshop we will be ‘chasing’ our shadows with some scissors and paintbrushes.
Tuesday workshop / A painting or a statue of words (5+); Tuesday, 8. August 2017; 10.00 – 12.30
We will be taking a look at a portrait of an artist’s family, ‘drawn’ with words – an artistic installation which includes parts of texts from the autor’s book.
Tuesday workshop / FITOLITS + a reading place in the park; Tuesday, 22. August 2017; 10.00 – 12.30
In the city park we will explore fitolits, created by the Maribor sculptor Vojko Štuhec. Followed by a workshop, where we will be making up our own ideas of fossilized plants.
