UGM shop, Strossmayerjeva 6
18 October 2018 – 17 February 2019
opening and a conversation with the artist: Thursday, 18 October 2018, 18:00

Maribor native intermedia artist Toni Soprano presents herself with the ʹout ta kē photo book. The book will be available at the UGM Shop at a price of 12 EUR. At the opening, a conversation with the artist will be held, moderated by Brigita Strnad, Museum Advisor at the UGM.

ʹout ta kē comes from the English term OUTTAKE, used in film terminology. An outtake is any take of a movie that is removed or otherwise not used in the final cut. Some of these takes are humorous mistakes made in the process of filming. These are errors, removed in order for the movie to “work”. The same expression applies in photography for pictures removed from the final series. In English language, if there are errors in the word ERRORS and R & R are left out, we get the word EROS: ER℟O℟S → EROS.

Metka Golec lives and works in Maribor. She studied architecture at the Technical University in Graz, photography at Friedl Kubelka Schule für künstlerische Fotografie in Vienna and acquired her MA degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. For fifteen years, she had been one half of the artistic tandem son:DA, while for the last decade she has been working by herself under the alias Toni Soprano. Her work encompasses scenography, sound and light as well as photography. While her trademark have been drawings of various sizes made by computer mouse, lately she has been, for the most part, working in theatre, doing scenography with the director Ivica Buljan.

There is no admission charged for viewing the selling exhibition.
