Robots represent a 20th century technological invention, although the ancient Greeks have already rumoured about an artifical form of life, which was also mentioned in the Bible. A robot is a cybernetically "resurrected" object that moves autonomously. Its creator determines its (un)predictable motion by programming and constuction. Robots have stirred the imagination of both, artists and scientists, whose cognitions and ideas mutually intertwine. The robot as a phenomenon will be presented at a round table in its broadest sense, including the latest technological discoveries in the field of robotics, their connection with artistic research and practices, as well as the anthropological and culturological context of these technological creatures.
