In the frame of the joint festival intermedia platform MFRU + KIBLIX you are kindly invited to the performance Sonia Cillari (Optofonica Showcase, Italy): As an Artist I Need to Rest. As Sonia Cilliari lies still on the floor of the exhibition space, she is exhaling through a very long cable, which departs from inside of her left nostril and ends at the center of the main screen. Her breath generates a “digital creature” which appears as a feather. During the performance she exhales around 14.000 feathers and creates diverse states of beings, from addition to resistance patterns. The range of the carbon dioxide level in the exhibition space is revealed by the digital feather, which might lose its initial range of colors heading towards black in case of higher concentrations in the air she is inhaling. The performance and installation intensifies the attention of the viewer by listening to the breathing of Sonia Cillati in the space of time.
