Maribor Art Gallery (UGM) is delighted to announce our partnership with the Slovenian Centre for Creativity, which is operating under the auspices of the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana and with the support of the European Regional Development Fund!
Centre for Creativity (CzK) (CzK) is a platform to promote, present, and support Slovenia's cultural and creative sector. It encourages the development of projects positioned at the intersections of art, experiments, markets, entrepreneurship, and the economy. The platform supports the empowerment of the sector by linking it with business, science, education, and other sector areas. CzK operates in the fields of architecture, design and visual arts, music, performing arts and film, cultural heritage, books and information technologies, advertising, media, cultural tourism, etc. CzK also enables the development of entrepreneurial skills and other competences, increases the presence and visibility of players in the national and international markets, and stimulates greater interest and awarenes of the general public and the media at home and abroad.
Maribor Art Gallery contributes to the Centre for Creativity platform by organising the two-day event ART FOR SALE, Contemporary Art for Sale, where for the first time in Slovenia important regional players in the fields of collecting, selling, and promoting contemporary visual arts will gather in one place. The event features collectors, young and established gallery owners, directors of art fairs and festivals, critics, and specialised communicologists from the local and broader regions to become engaged in a lively dialogue with the audiences. As a part of the discussions and workshop, our international guests will share their knowledge about the creation of private collections, the sale and purchase of works of art at international fairs and elsewhere, about the set-up and management of private galleries and festivals, and how we can communicate with different audiences about contemporary art. Works of contemporary Slovenian artists will be offered for sale as part of the sales exhibitions. Art for Sale will be an excellent opportunity to learn about the rules of the unique art market!
