Meet the artist / Mina Fina

Who are you and what do you do?
Visual artist and graphic designer.

Describe your work in three words / adjectives.
Melancholy, loneliness, longing.

Best advice on the art world you've received?
Hmm, I think I forget the advice all the time, if I get them at all.

Artwork / author / music / movie that has been your favorite lately?
[Album] Moses Sumney – græ.

What do you fear when you create?
I’m not scared while creating. I like mistakes and irregularities that happen during the process and I usually use / adopt them in my artistic practice.

What creation tool would I not be able to live without?
Classic trio: blank sheet of paper, pencil and eraser.

What do you consider to be the biggest success of your artistic career so far?
Ha ha, I haven’t thought about “greatest hits” yet. Every realized project is a success.

How do you view the positive or negative critique of your creation?
Criticism is necessary, urgent and I think it is even lacking. I am my biggest critic.

Name an artist that you would like to be compared to.
I don't have a specific desire for comparison, but I'm interested in what kind of comparisons viewers see in my works.

How did the pandemic mark your work?
I have more difficulty concentrating for work and I miss walking through museums and galleries immensely.

The relay question of the artist Matej Koren:
What is art for you?
I can’t explain exactly what art is for me, but I can’t deny the impact it has on my life and beyond.
