The phenomenon of life and vividness, as a subject of research incorporated into various art projects, represents the central topic of the Kapelica Gallery programme. The topic of life is thematised through different techniques, tools and materials, therefore the appearance of the object often obscures and shifts life with its visuality and performative spectacularity. In his lecture, Jurij V. Krpan will show different transversal connections, in which the subject of his interest is addressed to in robotic, biotechnological, interactive and participating installations as well as performances of different genres that follow the poetics of life and vividness.
Jurij V. Krpan graduated from the Ljubljana School of Architecture. At the initiative of the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana he conceived the Kapelica Gallery, which he has been running since. As curator and selector he has participated in domestic and international festivals. From the very start the focus of the Kapelica Gallery has been on artistic production which takes as the subject of its work the sphere of science and technology.
