In relation to the Inge Morath exhibition we also explore Slovenian photographic landscape. One of the outstanding personalities in this field is certainly Manca Juvan, a photographer, traveller and mentor. »Driven by stories and the challenge of how to best visually tell them, to express their essence and emotion,« she says of her work. In 'Artist Talk' format she will introduce her photographic projects: starting points, motivation, approach, challenges and responsibilities of photography.

Manca Juvan (1981) is a freelance photographer, who along with a BA in Photography has more than a decade of working experience throughout the field and around the world. She is a recipient of numerous awards, nominations and fabulous scholarships, including one by the Magnum Agency in 2011. She has taken part in an enviable line of solo and group exhibitions both in Slovenia and abroad as well as produced a number of publications. She worked with most of the prominent Slovenian and foreign press, such as the The Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Chicago Tribune.

"I’m first of all a curious creature; it’s what drives me to discover and listen… to you, to others, to myself… to document and communicate our stories and the stories of our time; by doing this I like and enjoy the unknown, the challenge each and every new story represents."

KINDLY INVITED!
