Lecture by: dr. Joel Brence, philosopher, theologian and psychiatrist
Drawing from his theological background at the University of Tubingen, Dr. Joel Brence will show a striking parallel between the role of the prophet in antiquity and the role of the artist in modernity.
Joel Brence was born in Lorain, Ohio. He graduated in philosophy and theology at the Tübingen University. He studied psychology and medicine in Zürich and received his doctoral degree in 1979. He is the former director of psychiatric clinic in Loraine. He lectured in Aspen, Zürich (C. G. Jung-Institut), Ascona (Fondazione Eranos) and Greece (American Institute of Medical Education), largely on the topics connecting psychology, religion and the arts. He retired in 2012 and lives in Ljubljana.
The lecture will be conducted in Slovene language.
