Darko Golija is one of the central figures in Slovenian sculptural art. Large space installations and unconventional sculptural materials, foremost iron, have dominated his exhibited body of works so far. The present exhibition Cephalization is the first comprehensive review of sculpture works commenced during the last years, and a surprise in many ways. It is a mesh of 30 fascinating artefacts that intertwine in space with the intention of seducing the amazed observer. Join the artist Darko Golija and UGM director and curator Breda Kolar Sluga on a guided tour through the exhibition.
Darko Golija (born 1965) lives and works in Maribor. He concluded his under- and postgraduate studies at the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts. He is now a professor of sculpture at the Fine Art Department of the Faculty of Education, University of Maribor.
