Lumar / Environmentally Friendly Actions
What Can You Do to Help Care for the Environment?
Lumar is the sponsor of the EKO 8 triennial

Separating waste, planting a new tree, buying second-hand clothes, using a bicycle instead of a car, eating less animal-derived food. What is an environmentally friendly act for you?

Lumar, the sponsor of EKO 8, has set itself the challenge of becoming carbon-neutral by 2030 at the company-wide level, aiming for neutral business processes and production, in line with their philosophy of zero-emission life.

And you? Send a description of a environmentally friendly act to infoping@ugmpong.si (with the postscript Lumar Zero Emission Living) and we will share the received descriptions on our website and on the  Lumar and UGM social networks. The collected descriptions will inspire us all to write a better story of the future together.

Lumar is the sponsor of EKO 8, International Triennial of Art and Environment. The partnership between the company Lumar and Maribor Art Gallery, which is the organizer of the triennial, is of special importance, as it connects two success stories, both at home in Maribor, each recognizable in its field throughout Slovenia and abroad. At the same time, these are stories with a tradition of environmental responsibility. With its innovative and environmentally friendly solutions, Lumar has been the leading Slovenian manufacturer of "almost no energy houses" for more than a quarter of a century. The EKO 8 Triennial has been taking care of environmental awareness among Slovenes of all generations since 1980 in connection with the most current contemporary art production.

As part of the EKO 8 Triennial - this edition entitled A Letter to the Future - Lumar supported the publication of an art book by Nina Slejko Blom and Conny Blom, which contains descriptions of environmentally friendly actions of individuals under the slogan Green Drawings for Green Actions. You can see the book at the exhibition EKO 8 / A Letter to the Future on the premises of the former Maribor Textile Factory (MTT) between 21 May and 18 July 2021. Welcome!
